UND is a major player in the precision turning market in France. UND's technical expertise in precision turning to manufacture complex parts is the result of a combination of two factors: high-performance machinery and essential human skills. From prototyping to small, medium and large-scale production, the quality of the result is the result of combining the skills of our bar turners with cutting-edge tooling.
UND has a fleet of 38 cam-operated lathes on which we precision-machine material bars with diameters ranging from 0.6 to a maximum of 10 mm. These lathes are used for mass production of parts that are not complex in nature.
We have our own cam manufacturing workshop in Franois. This service gives our production facilities a rapid response.
UND's bar turning business is spread over 5 production sites. In all these workshops, we have deployed a machine park consisting mainly of numerically controlled lathes capable of machining all diameters between 0.3 mm and 51 mm. These lathes enable us to machine complex parts in small, medium and large production runs with micrometric precision.
UND employs around 100 people, the majority of whom are bar-turning technicians with a perfect command of their production tools. Their experience and technical skills are assets when it comes to interpreting drawings. Thanks to this shared knowledge, we can offer our customers optimized manufacturing solutions for complex parts.

In its bar-turning workshops, UND is able to manufacture parts in small, medium and large production runs, in a variety of materials depending on customer requirements and the intended use of the parts.
For example, we machine with great precision bars from raw materials such as stainless steel and other steels, titanium, brass, copper, plastics and composite materials.
UND guarantees the origin and traceability of the materials we process. This transparency is in line with the demands of our customers, who place their trust in us.
Our size and organisation are the keys to our responsiveness. We have the capacity to respond to screw-machining production requirements within short deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards. Our teams have this mindset. They are capable of carrying out two assemblies in the same day to produce different parts.
UND in Franois has a building dedicated to the storage of raw materials, where they are perfectly catalogued. This stock gives us the flexibility to start production quickly and respond to urgent customer requests.
UND is equipped with tribofinishing machines. Using vibratory abrasion, this tooling primarily removes burrs from parts that have been turned. Mastering this stage is a key factor in our responsiveness.
SANDBLASTING
For complex parts, we carry out precision micro-sanding to remove burrs. This operation is carried out manually by one of our technicians.
